Kaylen trys to brech the eis - falls in

Kaylen admitted to KDH that he secretly owns Eisbrecher Guitars, that positive Reddit reviews of the brand came from his girlfriend's account, and that when Jon Symons asked him for advice about a damaged Eisbrecher return, he told him to settle with the company without saying whose company it was.1

From TheGuitarGeek’s video “Guitar Summit 2026 Day 3 | I'll see you all next year - Vlog. Part #3”

AS SEEN ON 2 CHANNELS

KDH and TheGuitarGeek make up

The two ended their public dispute at Guitar Summit, and both day-three videos covered it.2

From Danny Sapko’s video “Let's try again...”

Sapko and Divine settle

Danny Sapko took down his video accusing Scott Divine of ignoring him, and the two agreed a joint statement: "We are two dipsticks that cannot communicate."3

Consensus watch

Two Notes Captor X Pro. KDH got a $1,099 price and a NAMM 2027 date, Sonic Drive Studio was told "It's actually a technology preview", and TheGuitarGeek found it locked for the show. (KDH, Sonic Drive Studio, TheGuitarGeek)4

The modeller, examined. Rob Chapman spent six months with a NUX, John Nathan Cordy made five videos about modellers and advised waiting before buying one, and Rhett Shull advised deleting everything on the one you have. (Rob Chapman, John Nathan Cordy, Rhett Shull)5

Who's Beefin'

KDH vs sixstringtv

Heat: 5/5

KDH has uploaded "Confronting Sixstringtv", in which he puts to Kaylen the things Kaylen has been accused of, from fake reviews and hypocrisy to lying and extortion jokes. KDH says the honesty arrived late and under pressure: "I asked you to be honest. I gave you a chance to be honest here. You tried to hide it. I had to present everything to you to get you to admit it."6

SpectreSoundStudios vs The Interface Industry

Heat: 3/5

Glenn Fricker's "RME, UAD and Focusrite just got Obliterated" names three targets in the title and finds room for more inside. Universal Audio's dedicated plugin hardware is, he says, unnecessary on modern CPUs and liable to be discontinued. Antelope Audio's control software greets him with a sales pitch: "First, we have to load this screen because, hey, there's a sale on." Gear Sluts and PC users were also addressed, and the PC users were told it is time to be honest with themselves.7

John Nathan Cordy vs Headrush

Heat: 2/5

Cordy says Headrush has added new tech to old hardware and compares the result to an 11 Rack: "it's kind of like you've bolted on NAMM, but other than that, it's kind of like all of the old stuff". He also says he declined a request to demo it. The video is titled "My HONEST Opinion", which Headrush now has.8

Sonic Drive Studio vs The Internet

Heat: 2/5

At Guitar Summit, Jon Symons asked about the narrative that pickups are a scam. Dave Friedman was asked about online claims that Friedman no longer makes the BE50, and he ruled on the internet and its assistant together: "People say a lot of things online that aren't generally true. And then also, then they ask AI, which generally also isn't true."9

Rhett Shull vs His Own Crew

Heat: 1/5

Rhett Shull titled a video "Rhett Shull Bought Slash's Les Paul, and Still Sucks" and let his crew take it from there. David Jackowicz says the Les Paul came from Slash with a free top hat. Hamish Dickinson says Rhett needs more gear on stage to feel powerful in the band, and asked: "Didn't he like hire someone on Fiverr, I believe, to play all those parts for him?"10

KDH vs TheGuitarGeek

Heat: 1/5

KDH spent the same week ending a feud at Guitar Summit. He and TheGuitarGeek have called off what he describes as "a little kerfuffle". On why it is over: "we're adults, kind of."11

Danny Sapko vs Scott Divine

Heat: 1/5

Danny Sapko has withdrawn his complaint that Scott Divine ignored him. He accepts Divine's explanation, including the part about jazz gigs coming before the interview, which he found "slightly less convincing, but I do accept it as well, under the circumstances."12

The Creator Desk

👑 Honoured in a special edition KDH

  • In "Confronting Sixstringtv", KDH showed Kaylen a Reddit account praising Eisbrecher Guitars. It used the name of Kaylen's girlfriend, commented in German and was active in Cyprus subreddits, where Kaylen lives. Kaylen: "Yeah, that one was not me, but that was the Reddit account of my girlfriend." KDH: "He had absolutely no problem, and showed no remorse, lying to my face."13
  • Eisbrecher makes copies of the Iceman and the Ace Frehley shape. Kaylen once criticised Woodwright for copying shapes, and calls his own line "kind of wishy-washy and case-by-case basis". On the response so far, Kaylen counted "easily 45 plus videos coming out, just piling on this for virtually no reason, half of them." This one got 303,698 views.14
  • Four days earlier, at Guitar Summit, KDH and TheGuitarGeek made up on camera. KDH: "We did sort of say we behaved poorly, both of us."15
  • Jeff Kiesel told KDH that exhibiting at NAMM costs close to $150,000, for a show 70 miles from the Kiesel factory. "I don't know that I'll ever go back to NAMM."16

Tone Nerds

  • LSL Instruments' business director, on how Fender can fix things: "Just turn the whole thing around, put a plug in it, stop it. Apologize to the public." The video is titled "How Fender CEO Can Fix Their Mess" and has 222 views.17

Danny Sapko

  • Sapko met Scott Divine in person and took down the video accusing Divine of ignoring him over a cancelled interview. Their joint statement: "We are two dipsticks that cannot communicate." The interview is promised before the end of the year.18
  • Sapko built a replica of the Angine de Poitrine microtonal guitar from a cheap bass and zip ties.19
  • "How to succeed as a social media musician" is a satirical song about musicians who sexualise themselves for views.20

TheGuitarGeek

  • KDH on the reconciliation, in TheGuitarGeek's vlog: "we recently had a little kerfuffle, a little bit of a public fallout, but we're adults, kind of." TheGuitarGeek, on KDH's channel: "We're not going to fight anymore."21
  • TheGuitarGeek told Invaders Amplification that on their prototype, "the clean channel isn't quite clean enough." Invaders say they are tweaking it.22

Andertons Music Co

  • Lee and Pete found that a bass overdrive had won their earlier blind shootout of guitar pedals with Phil X, and nobody noticed it was for bass. Bassists know the feeling.23

SpectreSoundStudios

  • "RME, UAD and Focusrite just got Obliterated" by the Audient Horizon series, with the Horizon 32 at $3,199. The video carries YouTube's paid promotion label. Glenn on Universal Audio's pitch: "It only runs our plugins inside our ecosystem using our hardware forever".24
  • PC support on the Horizon has gaps. Glenn's advice to PC users: "isn't it time you stopped dicking around and tried using a real computer?"25

John Nathan Cordy

  • 2 October: "THEY ARE BUILDING DUMBLES AGAIN - GET YOUR WALLETS READY". In the video, Cordy says this of the same amps: "This is nakedly a grift to part dentists and CEOs from their money, and it will work."26
  • 29 September: "My Digital Modelers NEVER SOUNDED BETTER". The method is to plug them into a tube amp. 30 September: "Digital Amps CAN'T Replace Tube Amps - Can They?"27

Sonic Drive Studio

  • On KDH's channel, Kaylen said he hid his ownership of Eisbrecher when Jon asked him for advice about a defective Eisbrecher guitar, because Jon "would go, you know, blab out about it". Jon spent the week at Guitar Summit, where he thanked viewers for their support.28

Music is Win

  • Tyler Larson took Matteo Mancuso to Allaire Studios to look at Mancuso's new signature Revstar and sign the studio guestbook. The title is "This Music Studio is INSANE". We assume Tyler means that it has an interesting gate, or maybe it's the fog.29

Ola Englund

  • The new single "Means To An End" is out, and the album The Neverending Story follows on 14 October. Jeff Loomis plays a guest solo on "World Rift".30

Rick Beato

  • "Did Smoking Kill Rock and Roll?" took Pat Smear's cigarette at the VMAs as its starting point. It drew 1,799,512 views, the most of Beato's three uploads this week.31

Phillip McKnight

  • "Yamaha Shows Gibson & Fender How It Is Done." It is done, according to the review, with a $2,400 Japanese Revstar that sounds almost identical to the Korean one.32

Charles Berthoud

  • "I Turned My Bass Into A Synth... And It Sounds MASSIVE." It took a synth pedal for anyone to describe a bass as massive.33

Mike Cole

  • "Why Would Anybody Ever Play This", Mike Cole asked of the Rickenbacker 330. Part of the answer is a fifth knob.34

Bernth

  • Escape the Internet II has added four UK dates in February, according to Ola Englund. Meanwhile Bernth uploaded a sung-and-played cover of Metallica's "Creeping Death" to the internet.35

Rob Chapman

  • "I've used the NUX MG50Li for 6 months... here is the truth." The truth is that it has no native fuzz and no IEC power input.36

Riffs, Beards & Gear

  • "The Perfect Baritone? | Cort KX500." Fluff found it impressive, and YouTube labels the video as paid promotion.37

Sean Daniel

  • "Professional Musician Faces Harsh Reality on the Street." The street was in luxury Sarasota.38

Old Man Yells at Cloud

The cloud is currently composed of 40% music-industry gloom, 30% algorithm, 20% country music and 10% second-hand smoke. Rick Beato contributed none of it.

The cloud got the week off. Rick did not yell at anything this week. The nearest miss was "Did Smoking Kill Rock and Roll?", about Pat Smear smoking on stage at the VMAs. For once, the suspect was not autotune.39

Sheryl Crow, on Rick's show. The interview guests did the shouting instead. Crow on the money first: "It really is like, 'How can you make us money?'" Then on modern country: "It feels very curated... It feels super corny. It feels like a lot of click words... it felt like 90s Christian music to me". 90s Christian music was not available for comment.40

Josh Homme, also on Rick's show. Homme says there are no underground scenes any more, "because in order to just get noticed to survive, you want to go ahead and frisbee your disc into the algorithm." The proposed cure is radio, which "just" has to "have the guts and stop thinking about safety." The underground has a new hope, and it is the radio.41

Shinedown. Our records show no mention of Shinedown this week. For the avoidance of doubt, Rick Beato worked with Shinedown.

The Tab says

A good interview is more than a friendly chat with a microphone in the room. KDH's "Confronting Sixstringtv" shows how it's done. He asked the plain question first: "Are your guitars manufactured by IYV in Vietnam?" When Kaylen's account of a Reddit review didn't add up, KDH didn't move on. He set out the posts, the photos and the account until the answer came: "that was the Reddit account of my girlfriend."42 He said himself what it took: "I had to present everything to you to get you to admit it."43

Compare last week's Fender interview. Mary Spender asked about the €250,000 in the letters, and Bud Cole said "those were never fines that have been applied to anyone." On the earlier ruling that the shape is generic, he said "I won't go back and litigate the past of Fender". Neither answer got a follow-up.44

Asking the question is half the job. KDH did the other half too, so this week is a special edition.
